Indigo Děčín, z.s. operates a low-threshold children and youth community centre called Kamarád where children can meet after their classes so that they do not have to spend their free time in the streets and can instead spend it in a meaningful way.

Children and young people from 6 to 26 years can participate in different recreational activities, such as music classes, sports etc. without having to pay for them. Since 2011, Indigo Děčín, z.s. has been a social service provider under Act No. 108/2006 Coll., as amended. In January 2018, another social service was founded here: in the socially excluded housing estate of Boletice, four field workers provide support to people in difficult situations directly in their own natural environment, map the social situation of the population, and help their clients communicate with authorities, employers etc.

Veronika Kašáková Foundation - Support for children from children’s homes to find their way through life

In the Veronika Kašáková Foundation there are mainly volunteers who have chosen to assist young people as they transition from children’s homes into real life.

Every young person who shows an interest gets a “guide”. They form a personal bond which starts in the children’s home and continues after the young person leaves.

The goal is simple: To visit, motivate, and give affection to all the children in children’s homes in the Czech Republic. To reach a state where every young person leaving a children’s home knows what awaits them, is ready for it, and does not have to face it alone.

The main mission of the project is to enable children around the Czech Republic to live better and happier lives despite their handicaps and the environment where they are growing up.

The project also includes an event called “Feather Week”, a national fundraising campaign organised by Help the Children. The goal of this event is to raise awareness of the fundraising campaign for Help the Children and to collect financial contributions from donors in sealed boxes.

SILOU HLASU, z.s. - People with impaired fine motor skills in their hands

The SILOU HLASU association was founded by Dita Horochovská and Lukáš Srba in December 2016. The mission of this association is to teach people with impaired fine motor skills in their upper limbs to operate a computer using their voice in a free course which helps them improve their everyday lives.

In this course, the clients learn to operate a computer (e.g., to control the cursor, use the keyboard, Microsoft Word, the Internet, etc.) and to write texts using their voice. After the course, these abilities help the clients achieve privacy, independence, freedom, purpose and, if their health condition permits it and they are interested, the association helps them find work.

The Social Endowment Fund logo The Social Endowment Fund logo

The Social Endowment Fund - Helping people in difficult life situations

The Social Endowment Fund of the City of Brno and the South Moravian Region helps people in difficult life situations. It also often fills in a legislative gap because many of its clients do not qualify for any social benefits or other forms of state aid. It is therefore often considered their last and only chance. Its help is aimed mainly at families with children or children without a family, the elderly and people with disabilities. Its financial support is designated also for single parents who have encountered serious existential problems during the Covid-19 pandemic and its restrictions, because their earning possibilities have diminished as they had to take care of their children, or because they have lost their jobs.

I know how it feels to be in need of help, support and understanding

I know very well how it feels to be in need of help, support and understanding. My childhood and adolescence were not easy. I had a hard time, but at least I can now use the experience.

I knew that life was not a fairy tale. That is why helping those in need has always been part of the basic DNA of Zásilkovna. It was a natural and honest decision. I did not do it to pursue economic ends or to show off my corporate CSR

We have been helping since we could afford it. We support projects aimed at improving and developing the quality of life for children, youth, and single parents as well as for disadvantaged groups and individuals. We fund projects supporting technologies helping people to better manage their handicaps and lead full lives.

I would like to thank to our employees, partners, and customers. We wouldn’t be able to help without you.
